Benefits Problem / Issue to be Addressed • Manganese is believed to be the source of Sativa’s brown water issues • State Board has indicated that Sativa will receive a Compliance Order to address the manganese exceedances • Sativa's primary well has logged consistent exceedances of Secondary Drinking Water Quality Standards for manganese. • Manganese levels average 51 ug/L for the last 12 months • ~60+ ug/L for 9 months, ~30 ug/L for 3 months during the rainy season • Secondary Drinking Water Standard is 50 ug/L Describe physical benefits of the project • Remove up to 100% of manganese • Post treatment = 0ug/L to 25 ug/L How does project addresses critical need (s) of GLAC IRWM • Improves DAC access to clean, safe water • Keeps water service costs for a DAC from rising steeply • Project costs aren’t transferred to customers • If project not built, must switch to imported water
