How did Colonists show British they did not support new taxes and measures passed by the British?Did they just decide after the first tax that war was necessary and they wanted to be free???NO! This was a process...something that was about 10 years in the making!Steps taken by colonists BEFORE war:1. Simple protests / public speeches2. Creation of slogans "No Taxation without Representation"3. Formation of Groups to discuss taxes and protest (Sons of Liberty / Daughters of Liberty)4. Formation of groups to inform others of events / news (Committees of Correspondence)5. Boycott of taxed goods (refusal to buy them - get them elsewhere or make their own)6. Meetings for unity - Stamp Act Congress in NY7. Wrote letters to the King / Parliament in England8. Attack / Violence / Scare tactics of tax collectors (Tar and Feathering)9. Taunting soldiers ("Boston Massacre")10. Destroying items that were taxed ("Tea Parties")***Use of propaganda...What is this????????????????????????????????????????????
