The “Nazarenos” is a religious brotherhood. There are 57 “Nazarenos” throughout Spain.The men within the brotherhood are called “Penitentes”.They wear a hood called a “antifaz”. Some of them also wear a pointed cone on their heads. This is called a “capirote”.The “Penitentes” represent sinners and they are disguised to keep their identity a secret.
