  2. Summary A Week in the woods is about a boy named Mark Chelmsley and his family is rich. He is in 5th grade and he has never had a house for more than 3 years. He just moved to a town in New Hampshire and he doesn’t like it even though he has a beautiful house he is still disrespectful. He really didn’t really care about school but then he met Mr. Maxwell. Mr. Maxwell made Mark become better student but he was still a slacker. The upcoming field trip called the Week in the Woods was one of the best field trips of the year you just spend a week in the woods doing science things. The problem was is that Mr. Maxwell was the supervisor of the trip. Will Mark be able to straighten up his act and go to the fun field trip or will he be a slacker and not go read the book to find out.

  3. Characters • Mark: Mark is a slacker but a very smart kid. He is also the son of a very rich family. • Leon and Anya: These are the babysitters of Mark because his parents are gone all the time and they only see Mark every month. • Mr. Maxwell: Is the best teacher in the 5th grade and has a problem with Mark. • Jason: Jason is Mark’s only friend at school he is also a slacker at school.
