  1. Parotid Cancer- Symptoms and Treatment Our mouth consists of many glands, few of them are major and others are minor. If any of the glands develop the cancerous tumor, then the person affects the parotid cancer. A benign tumor does not spread to other parts of the body and without treatment or removal; it may be converted into a malignant tumor. Malignant tumors are critical and need immediate surgery. Types of parotid cancer: Mucoepidermoid carcinomas: it will grow slowly in the body and at the start of the parotid glands. Adenoid cystic carcinomas: it is difficult to cure because it grows along the nerves. Acinic cell carcinomas: mostly youngsters are prone to this cancer and it grows slowly. Polymorphous low-grade adenocarcinomas: It also grows slowly and starts in the minor salivary glands. The whole salivary gland needs to be removed along with affected nerves and ducts. If the tumor is small, then doctors will only remove the tumor and surrounding tissues. Radiation: In this, high power substances will trigger on the tumor to slow the growth or destroy the cells. External beam radiation therapy is done on the tumor with a penetrating level of radiation. The entire treatment will take a maximum of seven weeks.
