Show hidden files/extensions • Go to My Computer • Tools (from menu bar • Folder options • On the View tab • Under files and folders • Under hidden files and folders select show hidden files and folders • Make sure “Hide extensions for know file types” is unchecked • Click apply • At the top of the screen and select “Apply to all folders”

  3. Creating a new folder • Go to location • Right-click • Select New, Folder • Name the folder

  4. Creating Hyperlinks • D:\ (For CD Drive) • Folder Name\ • File name.extension • Example: D:\Edu 110\Paper #1.docx • NOTE: The wording must be exact, include all spaces and symbols as they appear in the title of your document

  10. Burning a CD in XP or Vista • Move contents to created folder • Insert burnable CD into CD burner • Go to My Computer\D:\ • Resize the windows • Place the windows side by side • Drag and drop folder to D:\
