Steps • Write the numbers on top of one another. • Make sure the decimals are lined up. • Start at the left and ask, “Are these numbers in the same place value?” • If no, compare place values and make your correct mark. • If yes, ask, “Are these numbers the same?” • If no, compare the numbers and make your correct mark. • If yes, cross them out and go to the next number to the right and ask, “Are these numbers the same?” • This process continues until you can make your correct mark or place them in the correct order.
