How this happens. • Chimerism is caused when twins (still in the womb) fuse together becoming one person. The person then gets a mixture of both DNA sets. santacruz.hubpages.com
Locus • The locus of chimerism is anywhere on the person where the DNA is different.. So, Everywhere. • They have 2 sets of DNA throughout their body at different areas. protomag.com
How often this happens and who it happens to. • Chimerism is very very rare, Only about 35 cases are currently known in the U.S. • Chimerism can effect Animals and Humans.
