  2. Support for the project • The NMR supports the OASIS Project through inputting of form data to the Excavation Index & its supply to the ADS Catalogue • Input to & provision of training • Setting of standards via the DSU

  3. Why the NMR want this • Updating of the Excavation Index with ‘fresh’ data • Allowing comparison with existing EI dataset through time • Commitments to ADS Catalogue

  4. How the NMR uses the data • Submitted forms are checked & input to the Excavation Index • Cross-referenced to earlier fieldwork where relevant • Validated & signed off • Submitted to ADS Catalogue

  5. What next? • Completion of training across EH Regions • Spreading the word • Changes to data collection mechanisms • Input to archaeological policy

  6. Use of OASIS clause • Adoption crucial to project • ALGAO support & review process
