curly Something that is curly has curves or twists. A poodle is a dog with curly hair.
straight Something that is straight has no curves, turns, or bends. Some kinds of dogs have long, straight hair.
floppy Floppy means hanging down loosely. Hound dogs have floppy ears. The ears hang down low.
drooled If an animal drools, it lets saliva drip out of its mouth. The Saint Bernard drooled all over the place!
weighed When something is weighed, it is placed on a scale. A dog can be weighed on a scale. Then the vet knows how heavy the dog is.
stood Stood means to have a certain height while standing still. The children measured the dog. He stood one foot tall.
collars Collars are leather, metal, or plastic bands that are put around the necks of animals. Collars come in different styles. A collar goes around a dog’s neck.
row A row is a number of people or things arranged in a line. The dog treats are lined up in a rowon the shelf.
satisfied If you are satisfied, you are pleased with how things are or something that has happened. Henry was satisfied because he got Mudge.
sibling A brother or sister is a sibling. One reason Henry wanted a dog was because he didn’t have a sibling.
salivated If you salivated, a watery liquid formed in your mouth. Mudgesalivated a lot because he drooled.
characteristics Characteristics are things about a person or thing that make it special. Short fur is one of Mudge’scharacteristics.
