2. Strikes In theory, the actual pins that a ball should impact during a strike for
Right handed bowler 1,3,5,9
Left handed Bowler 1,2,5,8
3. General rule for adjustments to the pocket:
Move in the direction of the miss
What direction to move if the ball is ‘light’ in the pocket?
To the ball side
What direction to move if the ball is ‘high’ in the pocket?
Opposite of the ball side

4. There are three steps in making spares:
Determine the Key pin
The pin closest to the bowler (it may not be standing)
Align your feet
Count boards from your strike position
3,6 or 9 boards
Square your body back to your initial target
Look at your strike target Shooting Spares

Depending on the location of the “key pin”,
you will move to a position on the approach to go cross-lane
in 3 board increments to convert spares.
