5. Some issues of S&T Strategy 2011-2020 (1) • The S&T strategy focuses : 1.To ensure a scientific base for the Vietnam’s socio-economic development strategy with the orientation of sustainability and international integration; 2.To contribute to a decisive part to raising quality of economic growth and competitiveness of national economy; (the value of high-tech products to reach 45% of GDP in 2020) 3.To enhance the S&T capability to reach high level of the ASEAN region. 5. Some issues of S&T Strategy 2011-2020 (2)Key S&T tasks till 2020 1. To give priority to the research of social development doctrines and socio-economic development models; 2. To focus research on scientific and objective aspects of the globalization and regionalization process; 3. To focus on research and making basic surveys on Vietnam’s data concerning natural resources and ecological environment; 4. To give priority to the research of socio-economic management; 5. Innovation related concept (2) • Defining Innovation(Based on “Oslo Manual”, 3rd edition, 2005)An innovation is the implementation of a new or significantly improved product (good or service), or process, a new marketing method, or a new organizational method in business practices, workplace organization or external relations.
