  1. 2 Reason Why Valencia is Great Place to Visit Founded as a Roman colony by the consul Decimus Junius Brutus Callaicus in 138 BC, Valencia is the third-largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. It is a charming historic city and the capital of the Old Kingdom of Valencia. It lies on the Mediterranean Sea in between Barcelona and Madrid as both take four hours and three hours to reach, respectively. The city has broad sandy beaches and tuck into delectable cuisine that draws on the sea. It is also home to paella, the most famous Spanish dish. If you’re visiting Valencia for studies and enjoy sunny days you will be glad to know that it has 300 days of sunshine a year and has a mild winter with little rain.
