  6. Next Morning • The Chinese crew refused to sail without naval escort • The refinery had to close down • Gas and oil could not go to England or African dessert • No activity at the bay for a week

  7. Toward the End of the Week • The vegetables supply was running out • Grace’s used the shortage as an excuse to leave the island

  8. February 21st • Chinese crew agreed to sail • Norwegian tanker headed for Willemstad was torpedoed

  9. A day/ two later • Went to Schottegat to see S.S Empire Tern • Still there are empty tankers in the harbor • In they afternoon, Phillip and his father went to Punda to watch S.S Empire Tern sailing
