Word of the Day immensely To read a book for the first time is to make a new friend; to read it for a second time is to meet an old one.
He was one of the early saints who helped to spread Christianity among the pagan Celtic tribes of Western Britain • He became Archbishop of Wales, but remained in his community at Menevia (now called St Davids)
About St. David’s Day • March 1st is the date given for the death of Dewi Saint [St. David in welsh}, and was celebrated as a religious festival. • In the 18th century it became a NATIONAL festival among the Welsh • St David’s day is now celebrated by Welsh people the world over.
How is it Celebrated? • The celebration usually includes singing and eating. • Traditional songs are sung followed by a Te Bach, tea with teisen bach and bara brith. • Y Ddraig Goch, the Red Dragon, is flown as a flag or worn as a pin or pendant,
What’s St. David’s message? We can transform our home life, work life, our relationships, even perhaps the world, if we focus and concentrate on the little things we could change for the better
What little things could you change for the better? Reflection • Try not to waste food • Try to recycle a bit more • Maybe help someone clear up even though it’s not your turn • Try to eat more healthily • Do something nice for someone you know
