  1. Three Common Applications of Stainless Steel Ball Valve The advancement of technology has paved way for better quality work across industry verticals. If you have ever worked with any type of fluid processing system then you might be familiar with the stainless steel ball valve. Ball valves are quarter-turn calves that are usually made with full-bore designs. In other words, they can completely stop water flow when turned off and would not hinder flow when turned on. This is of great importance as pressure and flow rate are crucial to the application. Of all materials, stainless steel is the most preferred because it is resilient with temperature resistance and top-notch pressure. There are several applications for stainless steel ball valves however here we will look at some of the most common uses. Applications for Steel Ball Valves Though the market is flooded with plenty of ball vales options, it is the stainless steel that tops the list of many. Listed below are the most common applications of stainless steel ball valves. Brewing Systems This is the most common place where you can find stainless steel ball valves. Commonly located on the kettle, such valves allow you to control liquid flow during transfers. The stainless steel valves come in direct contact with wort, the liquid form extracted during the process of mashing when brewing whisky or beer.

  2. Seawater Environments Some applications such as desalination take place near or in seawater. We all know that marine environments are harmful and corrosive to all kinds of materials however as they involve water, they leave an adverse effect on metals. In such types of applications, a large number of people prefer using plastic ball valves that might have resistance to harsh chemicals and water than other metals. The problem, however, with plastic valves is that they cannot perform under extreme temperatures and high pressure. This is exactly where steel valves can come to the rescue. They can handle even the intense conditions with ease. If proper maintenance is done then steel ball valves can have a long lifespan near and in seawater. Petroleum Refining The procedure of refining crude oil into usable outputs is not at all easy. It is a complicated process however it makes for a great example of a job that can be done only by a stainless steel ball valve. Crude petroleum comprises of several elements such as sulphur, water, carbon dioxide along with all types of microorganisms. All these elements together make it a corrosive substance. Slowly, over the period, it will break down the metal so you should consider getting pipes and valves that can withstand it for years to come. Ball valves made of stainless steel can hold up for a longer duration compared to other materials thus they are an obvious choice. These are just a few of several applications of stainless steel ball valves. The decision to use steel ball valves help in saving money as once installed, you do not have to worry for years to come.
