  2. What is Eco-Healthy Child Care? • EHCC is a National Program administered through Children’s Environmental Health Network (CEHN)which offers comprehensive environmental health standards to child care providers

  3. What is Eco-Healthy Child Care? • Protects children and their caregivers from harmful environmental toxins • Offers free or low-cost solutions to providers that are easy to implement • Provides resources, technical assistance and training to providers • Markets EHCC-endorsed facilities

  5. New York State • 98% of Child Care Providers are Women • 1,428,054 Women in New York State in search of child care

  6. What should I look for? EHCC endorsed facility • 11 training areas • Comply with 24 out of 30 items on EHCC Checklist OR A provider or center with a willingness to learn & become Eco-Healthy!

How EHCC Works: • www.ecohealthychildcare.org or www.cehn.org/ehcc • Materials free on the Web • 16 fact sheets* • Center endorsement checklist • Spanish, Russian and traditional Chinese • Facilities meeting requirements are endorsed by EHCC for 2 years • Parents search for EHCC-endorsed centers on CEHN website

What Providers receive forEHCC Endorsement : • Certificate • Poster • Posting on our Web site so parents can locate EHCC centers in their area • Marketing benefits through EHCC Website and media stories • Eco-Healthy tips by e-mail • Additional educational materials • Reduced toxics at their facilities!
