What is Evidence-Based Nursing (EBN)? the process by which nurses make clinical decisions using the (1) best available research evidence, (2) their clinical expertise and (3) patient preferences. Three important areas of research competence are: (1) interpreting and using research, (2) evaluating practice, and (3) conducting research. Adapted from http://evidence.ahc.umn.edu/ebn.htm
