Hydro generation in LCR accounts for nearly 60% of power generation Petroleum use has declined overall but remains significant for some countries and sub-regions Generation Mix: Latin America and Caribbean Natural gas usage has been growing • Hydroelectricity has been the dominant source of electricity for the region but its share has been declining Coal and other energy sources account for a small share of power generation in LAC.
