  6. Receiving Phase • Point of entry for all data. • Converting the data to a consistent format: an email message. • Once received, the data awaits processing by the decoding phase.

  7. Decoding Phase • Device required to be registered on the ROM network. • The raw data is stripped from the message and sorted into data slots. • Values in the data slots are stored without any interpretation or conversion

  8. Engineering Phase • Raw data has conversion formulas or other business logic applied as necessary to convert to usable information. • Data now useable for website display.

  9. Monitoring Phase • Data is inspected to see if it meets the customer specified conditions and queues an outbound notification if necessary. • Alarming

  10. Notify Phase • Handles communication from the monitoring system to the end user. • Alarms are placed in a queue for transmission and are handled in the order entered. • Email, SMS and Voice.
