LexALP Term Bank • database concept: • 4 languages (DE, FR, IT, SL) • within each language: legal systems • Example (FR) • Convention alpine: AC [Alpine Convention] • Traités internationaux: INT • Droit européen: EU • Droit national français: FR
LexALP Term Bank • Each term within a legal system is stored as a separate terminological entry • for a single term within a language there are multiple entries, usually one per legal system • other terminological databases: one entry containing all languages and all legal systems
LexALP Term Bank Example: Entries for the term “autoroute” in all languages (flag = legal system)
LexALP Term Bank • “inter-lingual acception” ≈ equivalence ≈ synonymy
LexALP Term Bank • “related axie”
LexALP Term Bank related axie The entries “streng geschützte Art“ (A) and “besonders geschützte Art” (B) may not be connected to the main axie, because there’s no “inter-lingual acception” with “rechtlich geschützte Art”: subsumed concepts! A and B may not be connected to the same related axie either, because of missing inter-lingual acception between A und B. B: besonders geschützte Art Axie rechtlich geschützte Art (FR.) (IT) related axie A: streng geschützte Art (SL)
