RUDI ion source Eb= 50–53 keV Ib= 2–2.8 A T= 2–10 s δα≈0.5° F= 4 m 1- soft metal case, 2 - gas feeding tube, 3 - inner magnetic shield, 4 - trigger, 5 - ceramic wall, 6 - RF coil, 7 - pull stud (insulator), 8 - ceramic spacers, 9 – beam duct, 10 - water inlet manifold, 11 - grounded grid, 12 - accelerating grid, 13 - extracting grid, 14 - plasma grid, 15 - magnets, 16 - co-axial feedthrough
DNBI W-7X ion source Eb= 60 keV Ib= 10–12 A T=10–60 s F= 6 m
