  2. Rules Of Proper Microscope Use Always Focus on an Object using the low power objective lens and the coarse adjustment. Always Carry the microscope with one hand under the base and one hand grasping the arm. Use the Diaphragm to control the amount of light. Two much light will drown out the slides image. Wash your slides and your cover slips after use, blot them dry and store them for future use.
