  2. CONTENT DEFINITION: The subject of the photograph The subject is a baby shown at different angles. Photo by: Erinhkw

  3. ABSTRACT This photograph shows different colors, shapes, and lines that do not form any shapes or objects we can give a particular name to. DEFINITION: An image that has formal elements (lines, shapes, etc.) that are not recognizable shapes Photo by: Rialynn

  4. REPRESENTATIONAL DEFINITION: An image with recognizable shapes In this photograph, we are able to tell the photograph is of apples based on the shape and the color. Photo by: Joan Dubanoski

  5. EXPRESSIVE DEFINITION: Communicates emotion In this picture, there is a smiling toddler. A smiling toddler makes people smile, even if it is the littlest smile. Photo by: Angela Thompson

  6. SUBJECT DEFINITION: Who or what is in the photograph The subject in this photo is the vase of tulips. Photo by: ammgramm

  7. THEME Dogs are the theme of this dog cake. Even though the dogs are not present, it is understood this is for a dog because of the dog bones, treats, and training pads. DEFINITION: A unifying or dominant idea in a work of art or a collection Photo by: Angela Thompson

  8. INTENTION DEFINITION: Why the artist made a work of art The photographer is wanting others to think this frosted leaf looks neat and unique. Photo by: Angela Thompson

  9. DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY In this photograph, this person is zip lining through Hocking Hills during the day time Canopy Tours. Going through the air, through trees, at about 75+ feet in the air is not an everyday event and should be documented.   26. FRAMING DEFINITION: Object placed within the boundaries of the photograph The most important parts of the photograph, the cat and the bag, are in the middle and the least important parts are around the outside. Photo by: Sherry Oberle
