  1. Using MLA Documentation to Avoid Plagiarism

  2. General Works Cited Page • Format: When you write a research paper, the works cited get its own page, and it should come at the end of your paper. The title, Works Cited, should be centered at the top of your page. Use double-spacing for the entire page. Include a heading in the upper right corner with your last name and page number (Jones 1). Your entries should be in alphabetical order, and you should use hanging indent. (Highlight the page. Go to Format, choose Paragraph, and a dialogue box will pop up. Under Indention, choose Hanging in the drop down box.)

  3. For your Polizos/Jones Bibliography • You will create a bibliography or Works Cited page on your power point for Mrs. Polizos and a separate page for Mrs. Jones. • These will be identical – do not change anything for different teachers. • Bibliography for Mrs. Jones is due Thursday!!

  4. Books • Here is a list of things that need to be included in your entry, in the order that they should appear: • Author’s name (last, first) • Title of the book • Name of the editor, translator, or compiler (first last) • Edition used • Number of the volume used • Publication information (place of publication: publishing company, year of publication) • Page numbers (Include only if you use a portion of the book.)

  6. Magazine Articles and Other Periodicals • Here is a more complete list of what needs to be included in your entry, in the order that it should appear: • Author’s name (last, first) • Title of article • Name of periodical • Volume number • Issue number • Date of publication • Page numbers

  8. Electronic Sources • A basic entry for an entire website should include the following, in this order: • Author’s name (if given) • Title of the site • Name of the editor (if given) • Latest update • Name of any sponsoring organization • Date of access • Entire URL
