  2. Summary Haridwar literally spells out 'Door of the Lord' is one of the few places among the Indians that have high admiration and religious value for their history. Ganga the holiest river in Hindu tradition sets its foot in plains from this area marking its territory across the northern parts, to central and then entering the sea at the east side at Kolkata. Also, Haridwar is one of the places where one of the largest human fest i.e, Kumbh Mela is organized every 12 years along with Ujjain, Nashik, and Prayagraj further highlighting its importance among the Hindu religion. There are many temples, adjoining places and mountains that are must be included in your Haridwar packages for a thorough experience of this spiritual land.

  3. Chandi Devi has goddess Chandi atop the 'Neel parvat' on the eastern side of the river Ganga with legend saying that local demon kings Shumbha and Nishumbha were killed by goddess Chandi. The main statue was put by the Adi Shankaracharya in the 8th Century A.D.
