Step1: Ask a Question • What is the problem? • Use what, when, why, and how.
Step 2: Form a Hypothesis • Form an educated guess. • This is what you think the answer might be based on what you already know.
Step 3: Test the Hypothesis • This is when you conduct your experiment. • The experiment is based on how you will solve your problem.
Step 4: Analyze the Results • After you have completed the experiment, you must decide what all of your data and observations mean. • Organize the data into chart or graph form when possible.
Step 5: Draw Conclusions • Is your hypothesis correct? • If yes, you might want to verify your results. • If no, you might want to check your hypothesis or change your procedure.
Step 6: Communicate the Results • Let others know what you have learned.
