What is a Magnet Schools Assistance Program ( MSAP)Grant? “Provides grants to eligible local educational agencies( LEAs) for use in magnet schools that are part of an approved desegregation plan and are designed to bring students from different social, economic, ethnic and racial backgrounds together” Gregory and Denby Associates

The Jack Swigert Aerospace Academy Magnet Grant • The grant was accepted as a three-year project that would: • Implement a fully-integrated STEAM magnet curriculum with Aerospace Focus • Increase Parent Engagement • Improve School image • Reduce Hispanic Minority Isolation Gregory and Denby Associates

  4. Components of Magnet Grant • State-of-the Art Aerospace Magnet School with STEAM components • Space Foundation partnership • Parent and Community events and opportunities • Professional Development and Travel • Recruit students who opt out of our school Gregory and Denby Associates

Year 2 Magnet Grant Plans • Continue Technology for Learning Vision Plan integrated into bigger Magnet School Plan • Bolster Aerospace STEAM curriculum • Develop curriculum maps • Recruiting plan for students who are zoned to our school, but opt out • Continue training for teachers, focused travel to Magnet schools • Bolster After school activities • Create Sustainability Plan and Dept. of Ed Visit Gregory and Denby Associates
