Why do I need to enter an image name and what sort of names do I use? • Also known as ALT attribute • Text value conveys information • Concise • Don’t leave blank- Required for accessibility- Improves search engine rankingHave key phrase in the image nameeg. ‘A student graduating with a postgraduate degree’ (where term is ‘postgraduate degree’)

Photography and image style • Images should support the text and fit with key brand values: approachable, down to earth, friendly and supportive
Use • Images of people or people using facilities/equipment, rather than objects or empty buildings (although we know in a montage you might need a mixture.) • Show people in realistic settings and images that look natural and unposed, like these examples:
Photos should reflect the diversity of staff and students in terms of race, gender and ability. • Important in group shots where we’d want to show a diverse mix without being tokenistic. • If you’re using third party photography ensure they fit the style and have permission to use.
