  4. An acid is any compound that increase the number of hydronium ions (H3O+), when dissolved in water. • The color of the tea becomes lighter. • Because acids cause some substances to change color. What will happen if you squeeze lemon juice into tea? And why? How is a hydronium ion formed? A hydronium ions form when a hydrogen ion (H+) separates from the acid and bonds with a water molecule (H2O) to form a hydronium ion (H3O+) What is acid?
