Reusing • Reusing an item refers to using it twice, or even many times, instead of just once. This helps by keeping it from becoming waste. • Some ideas for reuse include using glass or plastic jars after they're empty, or taking a cloth sack to the store when you shop (you don't need a bag, and you can use the sack again the next time). • Take along washable cups or travel mugs instead of disposables; a lot of restaurants and convenient stores will be glad to fill or refill your own mug. • Save your old clothes for a garage sale or give them to a charity. If they are ripped or torn and cannot be repaired, then use them for cleaning rags (cut off and save the buttons first). • Use a hand towel for drying your hands and dish cloth or sponge for wiping up spills. They can be cleaned and used again instead of being used once and thrown away.
