Differences with real spectra • Main differences between both kind of spectra are the following:- Models have specific input parameters- Theoretical Spectra are not normalized H. Wozniak
Observer point-of-view • Looking for spectra of HDxxxxxx or region in the sky:http://www.myvo.org/ssa?REQUEST=queryData&POS=22.438,-17.2&SIZE=0.02 • Only one object: the star has a spectral type of characteristics equivalent to a range in: • Teff • Log g • Fe/H, α/Fe, etc… • If several objects: a collection of ‘ranges’ in parameter space. • Retrieve the theoretical spectra in the same range of Teff, Log g, Fe/H etc. • ‘automatically’ • upon request • after Teff, Log g, Fe/H, α/Fe determination H. Wozniak
Need to simply improve SSA ? 4.1.2 Recommended and Optional Query Parameters The following additional parameters should or may be implemented by a service; all the recommended parameters are required for a fully compliant service. • POS, SIZE, TIME, BAND, [FORMAT=]: These parameters SHOULD be implemented by the service. A valid request is any combination of these parameters. What’s happening if all are missing? • POS=?, unclear • SIZE=? Should be defaulted to some internal value • TIME=, BAND=, unclear • FORMAT=ALL by default H. Wozniak
Issues for theory spectra • How to deal with irrelevant parameters (unclear written in doc) • -> how to express irrelevance of mandatory parameters in format=metadata • How to deal with theory parameters (ala TSAP?) (probably description in doc). Format=metadata • What UCD to assign (all there?) • Is Spectrum DM compatible? Sufficient? H. Wozniak
