History Review ORT’s presence was established in America in 1922 with the formation of American ORT. At the time, ORT’s roots laid in the labor union movement. In 1927, Women’s American ORT spun off into an independent organization. ORT America was formed in 2006 with the merger of the two organizations.
ORT America Today ORT consists of about 300 chapters throughout the U.S. In 2008 there were 28,740 donors to OA.

Planned Giving • de Gunzbourg Society: Supporters who have remembered ORT with a planned gift. This includes letters of intent, life income gift and a host of other vehicles. • de Gunzbourg Society Heritage Club: Supporters who have put in place a planned gift to ORT America of $50,000 or more.
ORT Operations USA Spun off from OA, ORT Operations USA now operates as a separate 501c3 educational organization. ORT Ops is the US program arm OA gives ORT Ops USA $1.1 million a year
