Explain your thinking. How did you decide whether something is considered a system?

  2. What is a System? • Something with two or more parts that interact. • A change in one part of the system will cause a change in the system overall. • Systems have boundaries (you can define what IS part of the system and what is not) • What are other examples of systems?

  3. Living Things are Systems • What makes something a living thing? (an organism) • Discuss the talking points on the handout with your group and come up with what your group thinks are the characteristics of life.
