How to direct your life after finishing your engineering degree Many third and fourth-year students at the top engineering colleges in Mumbai start worrying about their career and life after they complete the course. While some students opt to start earning after they have completed the engineering degree, a large number are seen opting for higher studies. This gives them a better chance to land a successful career and make a better future. Here are some of the options available for engineering graduates: 1.Job after BTech: Job opportunities are excellent in the market for almost all fields of engineering. If you have made up your mind about first gaining some work experience, then your best bet is campus placements. Most universities offer campus placements to their students by inviting various companies and corporates. Finding a job outside college is also possible but is a rather tricky business. 2.Enroll for higher studies: In case you have decided to first finish studies and go for higher education before moving to the career aspects of life, then you should prepare for one of the examinations. A good score in the GATE, NET, NEET and other state-level engineering tests will open the doors to higher learning at a good college. You might need good scores in TOEFL or IELTS and GRE if you plan to move to a foreign university for higher studies. Many bank loans and scholarships have made a foreign degree more affordable than earlier. 3.Enroll for MBA: Many engineers take this route as they feel they would get bored with technical skills and will be stuck in a rut. An MBA degree will provide more avenues of job opportunities as well as a higher salary in less time. Many students from average colleges also take up the MBA course from a renowned institute to make their resume more attractive to job hunters. The admission to the MBA course also shall require one to have a good score in the CAT test. 4.Entrepreneurship: A very select few students from the top engineering colleges in Mumbai who have a unique business idea start their ventures with some sort of capital investment. Almost all the best engineering colleges in Mumbai inculcate entrepreneurial skill in their students. Such students, dependent upon a lot of other factors, may become popular as well as rich sooner than most others.
