Divorce rate has always been high. The divorce rate in America is 50% which means that every second couple in America is getting divorced or will be divorced. There are many reasons behind this high divorce rate. The most common reasons for divorce are adultery, crippling financial condition, addiction, conviction to a felony and desertion. Apart from this, rapid modernization of the society and downfall of economy have played a significant role in rising the divorce rate.
Given below are some of the reasons for divorce: 1. Adultery: This is the most common ground for divorce. Marriage or any relation is built on trust and when one of the spouses breaks that trust and involves in cheating then it brings pain and grief to the other spouse. The chances of a marriage surviving after the fatal impact of adultery is negligible, thus making it the one of the leading reasons behind divorce. 2. Financial issues: Money has always been one of the prime reasons that wrecked countless marriages. The love for money is the main cause of all evil. It is been observed that couple who are successful with their finances are less likely to get a divorce in comparison to couple with a crippling financial condition.
3. Lack of communication: Lack of communication in a marriage severely affects the bonding between the spouses and stops the free flows of thoughts and emotions. This makes living under one roof difficult and brings divorce into picture. Keeping things to yourself and not sharing with your spouse will create differences between you and your partner. 4. Downfall of economy: Falling economy played a big role in rising the divorce rate. Because of the shrinking economy people are losing jobs and those who managed to save their jobs are working hard to survive the pressure, thus resulting in they spending more time in office rather than with family. This causes differences in family and finally leads to divorce. 5. Relaxed divorce laws: There was a time when getting a divorce was a tough legal process to go through and was also very costly. With the introduction of new divorce types and relaxation in divorce laws, this once considered tough legal process is easy now, and one can get a divorce in as less as 30 days.
