Successes • December timely? • Smooth race/ethnicity reporting for school age. • Very few technical issues on ODE side. • New ECR Audit Process • Secondary Placements for 3-5 year olds • Questions… • And, Alex has officially retired!
Challenges • ODE staff shortage • Electronic Correction Reports – 17 districts had to be reopened after January 19th due to inaccurate data compared to last years 12. • Communication between Agencies • Do NOT wait until the last minute to respond • Unable to contact district staff, which resulted in districts being late. • Parentally placed private school students • Attending School is the Private School number. If the school does not have a number, it’s the attending district ID.
Challenges • Home Schooled Students • Not using ESD number in attending District and School field • Inter-district Transfer students* • Attending district reporting instead of the SpEd Resident • Charter School* • Enrollment code will always be C for Charter • Correctional Facilities • Agency Serving code needs to be 38 – Correctional Facility
Challenges • Manuals • Reading the newest manual – Always updated on-line • Manual is located at http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=2964 • Federal Placements* • Public Separate School (34) • Private Separate School (35) • Public Residential Facility (36) • Private Residential Facility (37)
Submission Dates • The collection will open November 23, 2011 • The collection will close December 09, 2011 Remember the data submitted is as of Dec 1

Core File Layout Changes • Adding two fields • American Indian Tribal Code • 3 digit code, located in SSID filler area of the file format • American Indian Tribal Affiliation ID number • Not sure of field length • SSID will allow another state’s ID in the attending district/school.
File Layout • Located at: https://district.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=185 or The Data Collection Committee (DCC) website https://district.ode.state.or.us/search/results/?id=402
ECR Audit Reports • Was the process easy? • Can it be improved? • Transition Report • Do we need to change?
SECC Trainings Regional trainings • New locations? or • Same locations? • Hillsboro • Albany • Ashland • La Grande • Bend • Web-Ex? Boot camp trainings • 2 trainings Add more? Adding throughout the year? Feedback Session • Is it still needed?
