MTAC Work Group #98 Area of Focus – Address Accuracy Evaluate how the Address Change Service (ACS) can be made more useful for Standard Mail Identify Potential New “Electronic Only” ACS Options
MTAC Work Group #98 Proposed Policy/Procedural Changes • One Code ACS will be a viable solution for all mailers in the near future • Eliminate the cost for hard copy returns for mailers participating: • in One Code ACS • Electronic Only endorsement • Revisit the weighted Fee - Does it still make sense? • Un-bundle the weighted Fee - Forwarding vs UAA
MTAC Work Group #98 Proposed Policy/Procedural Changes Contd • Reduce the number of UAA reasons as recommended by the MITF • Provide incentives for electronic use of ACS – Certified Mailing List
MTAC Work Group #98 Additionally: • Promote ACS as a viable Move Update solution to Standard Mailers, Banking and Financial institutions • Prepare a presentation to DMA List Leaders • Propose a follow up workgroup within the PARS and One – Code environment
MTAC Work Group #98 Desired Result A list of proposed changes designed to eliminate the negative effects of manual returns that are believed to be limiting the use of ACS as a Standard Mail AQ tool. Sunset - – March 31, 2006
