Kohei Yorita and Anton Kapliy August 14, 2007 Rawhits update: patterns
Pattern – collection of SS identifiers, one per layer. E.g: for SP,7L: 14206 24806 34106 39307 49307 59307 69307 Position identifies plane (1..7) -> must only contain Phi & module Eta Definition of SS: SS = (global_offset + local_offset)*100 + modEta Adopted for Rawhit and introduced new SS file. E.g., for SCT (768 strips): SS = [ (modWidth*modPhi + strip#)/SS_width ]*100 + modEta Superstrips (SS) PIXEL Module width = 2cm, divided into 328 lines. SS_width = 47 lines, i.e. ~7 SS per module SS_width = 2cm/7 ~ 2.9 mm isPix Layer SS_width ModWidth 1 0 47 328 1 1 47 328 1 2 47 328 0 0 60 768 ... SCT Module width = 6cm, divided into 768 strips. SS_width = 60 lines, i.e. ~13 SS per module SS_width = 6cm/13 ~ 4.6 mm
Comments 1-to-1 correspondence in input data 3.8 M events SP vs RH: sectors
Comments 1-to-1 correspondence in input data 3.8 M events First few RH sectors are more populated! SP vs RH: sectors – zoom in
Comments Using roughly the same SS size Both contain 10M events Many events that end up in the same pattern with SP are in different patterns with RH. Vast majority of RH patterns are formed from 1 event only! 1st patt has 14 events with RH, vs 80 with SP! BAD statistics. Need more ftkSimWrap data (100M?) OR: move to hi-efficiency mode SP vs RH: patterns – from last time
Aligned SP and RH events – 3.8M Ran SP in sector mode, chose most populated sector Ran RH in sector mode on events from this sector Same for most populated pattern SORRY – no plots, but lots of data SP vs RH: procedure

OK 23 events did not get into any sector. Did not investigate why
