BBHS Principal’s Comments • Math Department: Exploring resources Mathlinks, Matalicious-real life programs, Howard County Secondary Math Curriculum, Group work, on line programs, Integrated vs-traditional approach, looking at transitioning 9th graders next year and so on to integrated approach. • English Department: Exploring the standards The English department has been exploring the CC assessment and have been replicating the types of problems and assessments. They have also been piloting Studysync. They believe that they have a good grasp on the standards and need the technology to get moving. • Social Studies Dept: Project based learning. Each SS classroom teacher has submitted 3-5 projects that they will be doing in each of their disciplines. • Science Department: Science teachers have been using project based learning forever. Our teachers will continue to do what they are doing, but more time will be spent using the technology to gather, organize, and present the students findings. They will also continue to show how the experiments fit into real life situations.
