The Symposium focuses on teacher education in different parts of the world, especially issues and challenges that university-based teacher education is facing internationally. The restructuring of teacher education curriculum and institutions in many countries has radically changed the teacher education landscape. What becomes clear is the need for teacher education academics to grasp the challenges and opportunities to assert their power over shaping curriculum processes that will produce competent, confident teachers. The symposium will give emphasis to teachers professional development and will provide important analysis for educationists, academics and policy-makers.
