The aim of the CIP is: “To build a strong and coherent Voluntary and Community Sector through infrastructure support and capacity building to enable the sector to deliver high quality and effective services to the people of Cornwall.”

PRIORITIES FOR 2009-2011 • Modernising the CIP Infrastructure: Volunteering, Governance and ICT. • Encouraging more Quality Assessment and Benchmarking to prove the capability of the Sector. • Improving Cornwall’s access to funding

New areas of work BASIS 2 – funded until July 2011 • 3 part-time Funding Advisors • 1 full-time Equalities Advisor • Volunteering (Using volunteers to support the delivery of public sector services ) ‘Convergence Matters’(Technical Assistance) funding until 2011 • Information and communication relating to Convergence
Survey of local needs Inter-link Cornwall, ECCVS and the VSF are jointly funding a survey of local needs which will help to identify where there are gaps in support for the Voluntary and Community Sector
Communication and Engagement • CIP is now formally established as a working group of the VSF • A Marketing Plan has been written • Marketing materials have been produced Further action required: • CIP Website to be updated • Delivery Area Operational Plans
