IMSS and T11 • Fibre Channel standards are developed and maintained by INCITS T11 Technical Committee. • T11 does not have the expertise to develop MIBs. • Since the MIBs are for FC, this group is working closely with T11 to insure that they are technically (FC) correct, while following the guidelines set forth by the IETF for MIBs.

  5. IMSS and T11: Cooperative Strategy • Coordinate activities between IMSS and T11.5 • Ensure timeliness to other work. • Follow latest IETF directions and take advantage of IETF expertise. • T11.5 has approved a process for this. • T11 starts an internal project, complete with letter ballot, for each MIB targeted for this WG. • The drafts posted as individual submissions to IETF. • Once T11.5 is in agreement that the draft is technically accurate, control transferred to IMSS WG • The document becomes an official WG draft

IMSS Milestones • Goals and Milestones: • Done Submit IPv6 over Fibre Channel draft to IESG for consideration as Proposed Standard RFC 3831 • Aug 04   Work with T11.5 to determine what additional MIB modules are needed Storage Management Routing Information MIB (SM-RTM) • Oct 04   Submit Fibre Channel Domain Manager MIB to IESG for consideration as Proposed Standard Renamed Fibre Channel Fabric Address Manager MIB Will be voted on this week by T11. • Oct 04   Submit Fibre Channel Name Server MIB to IESG for consideration as Proposed Standard Undergoing comment resolution. Should be voted on by next IETF mtg • Jan 05   Submit Extensions for Fibre Channel Interfaces MIB to IESG for consideration as Proposed Standard On Hold • Jan 05   Review working group charter and determine what additional work, if any, should be undertaken by working group
