Chief Joseph- Leader of the Nez Perce Indians. He led 800 men, women, and children in an escape attempt to Canada. When he was confronted he surrendered and said “I am tired of fighting”
W.E.B. DuBois- African American teacher, writer, and leader who helped form the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP)
Invented the airplane. Began building airplanes in their bicycle shop in Dayton Ohio. Completed the first Flight at Kitty Hawk NC. Wright Brothers Orville Wilbur
Thomas Edison- American inventor who invented the phonograph and the first practical electric lightbulb; he also built the first power station to supply electricity to New York City.
Alexander Graham Bell- American inventor and educator; he invented the telephone in 1878
Andrew Carnegie- American Entrepreneur who helped the United States Steel industry grow. His business was centered in Pittsburgh.
Henry Ford- Developed the assembly line after first having introduced the Model T five years earlier. He realized his dream of making an affordable automobile.
