  4. A Mother’s Faith(2 Ti. 1:4-5; 3:15) • Sincere Faith • Instructive Faith • Contagious Faith • Transcendent Faith

  5. I. Sincere Faith “sincere” = unapocritou (unhypocritial)  No disconnect between words & actions, between public & private life  Gal. 2:13

  6. Sincere Faith  Prayer  Guarding the tongue  Forgiveness  In the Word

  7. “Judicious mothers will always keep in mind that they are the first book read and the last put aside, in every child’s library.”

  8. II. Instructive Faith Literally, the sacred letters  sacred = hallowed, extraordinary  letters = correspondence from one person to another

  9. III. Contagious Faith “the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice”

  10. III. Contagious Faith Give them: … the doctrine of your faith … the defense of your faith … the delight of your faith

  11. IV. Transcendent Faith • “reaching outside normal limits” “A chid is a statement one makes to a generation he will never see.”
