  2. Aims • To share what early writing and physical skills looks like at Lickey Hills • To develop parents’ confidence in helping their children with writing • To share ideas of how to help your child at home • To share examples of different writing stages

Gross motor skills All children are different and the rate at which skills are acquired and mastered will vary. 2 years- • run safely, avoiding obstacles, • Jump with 2 feet together • Squat with steadiness 3 years- • can sit with feet crossed at ankles • Walk upstairs using alternate feet • Throw, catch and kick • 4 years- • Stand, walk and run on tiptoes • Clap in time to music • Ride a tricycle • 5 years- • Hop for 2 -3 meters • Move rhythmically to music • Active and skillful in climbing, swinging, digging Let’s get physical…
