Family My nuclear family consists of my mom and dad, Rhonda and Mike Barnhart, and my two younger sisters, Mikala and Makenzie Barnhart. Both sides of my family are rather large so making family trees for class is always a fun experience.
School • I am a student at Floyd E. Kellam High School. • This year I am a senior graduating in the class of 2011. • My current GPA is a 4.0
Life After High School After I have graduated from high school I would like and hope to go on to a four year college. Some of my possible schools: William and Mary, Virginia Tech, UVA, and James Madison.
Hobbies and Extracurricular Activities Hobbies: I really like to draw; nothing serious just doodles and sketches, and I have always enjoyed reading. Extracurricular Activities: Most of these activities revolve around me doing Tae Kwon Do. I began about two years ago while trying to find something new to do and have become very involved with the sport. I am currently a student, instructor, and member of both their Demo, Demonstration and Leadership, Team and Olympic Sparring Team.
Teaching to Me After having been in Virginia Teachers For Tomorrow for two years now I have come to have a deep respect for the teaching profession. Teaching is one of the most difficult jobs there are but also one with some of the greatest rewards. Being able to change a student’s life or leave some impact on them is an amazing experience that makes the job all worth while.
How VTFT Has Prepared Me for My Future Career After being in VTFT now for two years I am still not a hundred percent sure I should pursue the teaching career. However, even if I do not the lessons I have learned can and will carry on into whatever I choose to do. From VTFT I have learned to work with others, treat everyone as an individual with different needs and abilities, and organization and planning. With these skills learned I feel as though I am up to any challenge or career I choose in life.
