What God Has Given Us • 1 Corinthians 13:13 mentions three things that are permanent: faith, hope, and love • Spiritual gifts were temporaryv.8-10 • The parts ended when the complete had been given v.10 • Even in the beginning, God’s concern was that the church have faith, hope, and love • Colossians 1:5, 1 Thessalonians 1:3

  3. Ephesians 1:15-16 • “Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:” • What is missing? • It is what Paul prays that the Ephesians would come to understand…

Ephesians 1:17-19a • “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe,”

Know the Love of ChristEphesians 3:19 • God has blessed us 1:3-14 v.4; 1 John 3:1 • God has saved us 2:1-13 v.4; Titus 3:1-7 • God has provided the means of reconciliation with Him 2:14-18; Romans 5:5-11 • God tells us of His intention 3:1-13; Romans 8:28-38 • What more can God do to prove His love for us than to give the greatest gift and tell us it is because He loves us?

God Wants You • To be strengthened by the Spirit in your heart • To make your heart a home for Christ by faith • To know His love for you 1 John 4:16 • To experience God’s love so that it is a life-changing experience Romans 2:4 • To be raised with Christ 2:4;Colossians 2:12 (Faith raises us after we are buried in baptism) • To walk worthily of the calling 4:1, Rom. 6:4
