  1. Jeffery David Whippo Explains How Motivation Can Be Measured in Terms of Observable Responses

  2. Jeffery David Whippo, a Well-Educated Expert in Leadership Development • Jeffery David Whippo explains that motivation can be measured by understanding the science behind it. • He further elaborates that motivation is a psychological force that enables action and has long been the object of scientific inquiry. • Jeffery believes that motivation can result from the interaction of both conscious and unconscious factors and that the intensity of desire or need, the incentive or reward value of the goal, and the expectations of the individual as well as their peers can all be factors in motivation.

  3. Motivation Research Allows You to Make Some Statements About the Nature of Human Motivation • Motivation and emotion benefit adaptation and functioning. • Motives vary over time and influence the ongoing stream of behaviour. • To flourish, motivation needs supportive conditions. • We are not always consciously aware of the motivational basis of our behaviour.

  4. Motivation Can Be Measured in Terms of Observable Responses • According to Jeff Whippo, these can be cognitive responses such as speed of recall or quality of perception. • Affective responses can also be measured through analysing self-reports of subjective experience and behavioral dimensions. • Apart from this, the current state of motivation can be compared to the previous or subsequent levels of motivation. • One can also use Motivation Assessment Scale to help identify the motivation behind a target problem behaviour. • To measure intrinsic motivation, The Sport Motivation Scale is used.
