  2. CE #1 • The world's last male northern white rhino has died leaving only two females left to save the species from extinction. • Sudan lived in Kenya, surrounded by armed guards to protect him from poachers.

  3. -$49.4 billion has been wiped off Facebook's market value this week. -Investors punished Facebook after Cambridge Analytica, which had ties to President Trump's 2016 campaign, reportedly accessed information from about 50 million Facebook users to influence voters. CE #2

  4. -Rihanna is the latest celebrity to send Snap's stock sliding. -For allowing an offensive ad to appear on its platform. -Her remark sent Snap stock down nearly 4%, erasing nearly $800 million from its market value. CE #3

  5. CE #4 • A huge, swirling pile of trash in the Pacific Ocean is growing faster than expected and is now three times the size of France. • 16 times bigger than previous estimates.

  6. CE #5*** • Retired Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens believes the March for Our Lives demonstrators for gun control should seek a repeal of the Second Amendment. • A repeal would end the right to bear arms.

CE #6** • Utah’s governor signed the “free-range parenting” bill into law. • It lets children “walk, run or bike to and from school, play outside and remain at home unattended.” • The law does not say what the “sufficient age” is. • Child-welfare authorities can no longer take children away from their parents if their kids are caught doing those various activities alone, as long as their kids are adequately fed, clothed and cared for.

  8. CE #7 • The Los Angeles Rams are making history in 2018. • They will become the first NFL team to have male cheerleaders on their team.
